Hammond World Atlas Corporation is one of America’s oldest and most respected map publishing companies and was purchased by Universal Map in 2010. Before the change of ownership it was a susidiary of the major US map publisher The Langenschaidt Publishing Group. The company was founded in 1900 by Caleb Stillson Hammond in Brooklyn, New York.
One of Hammond’s best sellers is the Hammond Atlas of the World, now in its fourth edition. The Philadelphia Inquirer wrote about this publication, “The Hammond World Atlas is beautiful, and after 100 years, the folks at Hammond have got it down”. The first edition of this atlas was the world’s first computer generated atlas and won awards for its accuracy.

Trying to get a blank world map?
I wanna get a blank world map for my project and write on it in Microsoft word but it gets all blurry. Any ideas for it to be more clear? btw im getting the map from google images
The size of England on a world map?
How come on world maps England seems way bigger than it is in comparison to other places?I know that most world maps are scaled incorrectly and show the whole northern hemisphere out of proportion with the southern hemisphere. However, take Michigan for example, whichever version of a map I have found it looks tiny compared to England, even thought Michigan has a bigger land mass.The area of Michigan is 250,493 km² where England is almost half the size at 130,395 km², however maps show England at least the same size as Michigan if not bigger.http://geology.com/world/world-map.gifA basic knowledge of geography allows me to know where the borders are for Michigan and England. They are both in the Northern Hemisphere so the fact one is further south doesn't account for anything. The more accurately scaled Peter's map http://odtmaps.org/images/sidea.jpg still does not appear to show England as half the size of Michigan.
why is the world map like it is?
as stupid as this sounds but the traditional map shows the states on the left and Russia/ Australia etc on the right!Why is it that way? why isnt Russia etc on the left side or the whole portion of the current map cut down the centre to the left all on the right instead? whats the math or physic or brain behind this?dont ask why. im on yahoo answers for a reason.
