What is latitude and longitude how do you figure it out please help its for my test?

Latitude is the angular distance north or south from the equator of a point on the earth 's surface, measured on the meridian of the point. Longitude is an angular distance east and west on the earth 's surface.
Latitude is the angular distance north or south of the equator. The equator is 0 degrees North pole is + 90 and south pole is -90. Halfway between is 45 degrees etc Longitude is the angular distance east or west of the prime meridian. The prime meridian is the line between the north and south pole that runs through Greenwich, London, UK and is defined as 0 degrees longitude. Longitude ranges up to 180 degrees East and 180 degrees West The 180 degree longitude line is on the opposite side of the world to London and runs through the Pacific Ocean.
