how to figure it out using a map. like if i was given the numbers how would i figure it out by using a map?? please help

If you were at the equator, a map 7.5 degress by 7.5 degrees would be approximately square because 1 degree of latitude would equal 1 degree of longitude. We are almost half way to the north pole, however, so our map is not square. What is the relationship between a degree of latitude and a degree of longitude near Gettysburg?ok...so what does that mean?
